The Cincinnati Ballet has been a cultural icon in the Greater Cincinnati region since the 1960s, acclaimed for their internationally acclaimed classical and contemporary pieces. After moving into a new, state-of-the-art building specifically designed to better serve the community, they approached the studio in search of a fresh, bold look for their 2022-2023 season.

The arts are not only meant to be seen, they’re meant to be experienced. They’re not for a select few, they’re for everybody. With Cincinnati Ballet’s egalitarian values in mind, the studio developed a design system that would break the fourth wall and bring the ballet to the people. Each visual layers the dancers’ bold movements against the typography in such a way that even still images appear to be bursting with life, while the monochromatic color scheme retains the beautiful sophistication so integral to the ballet.
